Error description
PROBLEM DESC: RFE: Provide PARMGEN Workflow UI improvements for: A. PARMGEN Configuration Framework Enhancements/Updates: 1. Specify the level of checking that the WCONFIG(KCIJPVAL) validation job or the VALIDATE step of the WCONFIG($PARSE*) job will perform. Review the WCONFIG($VALRPT) validation report Section 1 and Section 4 for any flagged errors. Valid values are: o - I (Informational) is the least restrictive level which results in the KCIJPVAL and $PARSE jobs return a RC=0, allowing the jobs to proceed even if there are flagged parameters in Section 1 or Section 4 of the $VALRPT validation report. o - W (Warning) is less restrictive where KCIJPVAL and $PARSE will return RC=4 but $PARSE will still run and configure all the products. This is basically the toleration mode level. o - E (Error) is the most restrictive validation level. Each invalid value will be reported as an error and therefore would hold further KCIJPVAL or $PARSE processing. The default is W (Warning) validation level. *Benefit: For staged upgrades, when the products that exploit PARMGEN provide product-specific validation exits, a customer may override the level of validation checking especially when a new version no longer supports an older release or version of a supported subsystem at earlier versions of a product. B. PARMGEN Application Configuration Enhancements/Updates: 1. Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server (TEMS): Modify "KDS_TEMS_COMM_PROTOCOLn" TEMS PROTOCOL1/PROTOCOL2/PROTOCOL3 protocol-related parameter defaults from "IPPIPE", "IP" ,"SNA" to "IPPIPE", "SNA". ¢Benefit: IPPIPE is the recommended IP-related protocol to enable by default, rather than IPPIPE and UDP ("IP") for a z/OS-based TEMS. 2. Common Agent configuration: Modify "Kpp_AGT_COMM_PROTOCOLn" PROTOCOL1/PROTOCOL2/PROTOCOL3 protocol-related parameter defaults from "IPPIPE", "IP" ,"SNA" to "IPPIPE", "SNA". ¢Benefit: IPPIPE is the recommended IP-related protocol to enable by default, rather than IPPIPE and UDP ("IP") for z/OS-based Agents. 3. OMEGAMON XE for DB2 PE/PM V5.2.0: "GBL_DSN_DB2_LOADLIB_V11 and GBL_DSN_DB2_RUNLIB_V11" - for OMEGAMON XE for DB2 PE/PM V5.2.0's DB2 V11 support, these two new parameters are now supported in the WCONFIG($GBL*) global profile.
