OA41147: MESSAGE IEE768I NOT ISSUED AFTER SYSLOG BUFFER SHORTAGE RELIEVED VIA K M,LOGLIM COMMAND

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Message IEE766E was issued for a SYSLOG Buffer shortage.
  Automation issued a K M,LOGLIM=  command with a higher value in
  order to relieve the buffer shortage.  The buffer shortage was
  relieved, however, the IEE768I message indicating the shortage
  was relieved was never issued.  The "missing" IEE768I also
  happens when specifying LOGLIM=0  value as well.

     Message IEE768I is not issued when a WTL (write-to-log)
  buffer shortage is relieved following a K M,LOGLIM=n to free,
  or increase, buffer storage.
  

Problem conclusion

• Processing has been changed to ensure IEE768I is issued when
  a WTL buffer limit has been relieved following a K M,LOGLIM=n
  to free all outstanding WTL buffer storage (LOGLIM=0) -or- to
  increase the WTL buffer size (LOGLIM=nnn).
