OA41144: ADRSBRTN MAKES A CALL TO ENF WITHOUT SETTING ENFPFREE BIT CAUSING ORPHANED BLOCKS WITH AN EYECATCHER OF ENF64.DF175

APAR status

Error description

• After a FULL VOLUME COPY customer noticed thousands of orphaned
  128 byte blocks with an eyecatcher of ENF64.DF175.  The
  eyecatcher indicated ENF and DSS involvement.  Upon further
  review it was found the ADRSBRTN expected ENF to free storage
  when called and had a RC=0.  But ENF requires the ENFPFREE bit
  to be set if it will free storage.  Since neither ENF or DSS is
  freeing the storage it remains orphaned after processing.
