Problem conclusion

• XRC is changed to allow a new volume selection mode, SIZE,
  when performing initial volume synchronization or
  resynchronization.  SIZE instructs XRC to select volumes
  based on their total number of cylinders.  This allows EAVs
  to start synchronization sooner and overlap processing with
  smaller volumes.
  
  The following updates will be reflected in a future revision
  of the z/OS DFSMS Advanced Copy Services manual (SC35-0428):
  
  In the section ANTXIN00 parmlib parameters, change the table
  entry for SelectionAlgorithm to include SIZE in the Ranges/
  Values cell.
  
  Add the following at the end of the paragraph describing
  SelectionAlgorithm:
  Specification of SIZE directs the system data mover to select
  volumes based on total number of cylinders, choosing the
  largest first, from the set of volumes that have been
  successfully XADDed up to that point. The existing
  parameters MaxNumberInitializations,
  InitializationsPerPrimary and InitializationsPerSecondary
  will be honored; in addition, to avoid overloading storage
  control sessions, selection by SIZE will prefer the volume
  with largest number of cylinders on the controller with the
  least residual load.  If there are multiple volumes with the
  same number of cylinders on controllers with the same
  residual load, the volume that was initially XADDed first
  will be the next to be processed.
  
  The following updates will be reflected in a future revision
  of z/OS MVS System Messages, Volume 1(ABA-AOM)(SA22-7631):
  
  Add the following to the description of 'priority' in the
  ANTQ8262I message:
  SIZE-Add volumes based on their total number of cylinders,
  from largest to smallest
