APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • SDSF TSO users on the PR (printer) panel will see incorrect
    FSS printer status. Similar to OA38226. A $DPRTx shows printer
    as ACTIVE. This may occur after printer setup message $HASP190
    is issued. At this point the SDSF printer status as well as the
    $DPRTx display will show HALTED. After $SPRTx is issued SDSF
    will show INACTIVE while $DPRTx shows ACTIVE.
    
    The CDCT copy of the device status used by SSI83 for the SDSF
    display is updated incorrectly.

Problem summary

    JES2 SSI 83 data returned to applications such as SDSF
    is flawed.  The management of device activity falsely
    removes data for a job active on a printer.
    

Problem conclusion

  • TYPE/RESTART(WARM) IPL/REQUIRED(YES) CLPA(YES)
    
    CLPA is needed only if HASCxxxx modules currently reside in
    the pageable link pack area (PLPA).
    
    ENF processing is updated to manage printer status
    properly.
    
    In order to completely fix this problem, APARs OA39305
    and OA38630 must also be applied.
