    ABSTRACT: Servicepoints disappear from ITM Service
    Index

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    ITM Service Index entries are removed at what appears to be
    random
    intervals. All servicepoints on the ITM Service Index are
    subject
    to this defect and may be removed in error. This removal leads
    to
    loss of TEPS, or ITM Service Console, or Agent Service Interface
    connectivity. This defect is more likely to occur on systems
    with
    many TEP web browser-initiated connects and disconnects.
    Defective
    code matches on port and not the entire socket address. In
    heavy use,
    this defect results in the owner of a service with the same port
    as
    a TEP client being removed in error from the ITM Service Index.
    RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS: none.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All ITMS/ENGINE users.                       *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A MESSAGE SLOT WITH DBCS CHARACTERS IS *
    * NOT ADDED TO THE EVENT EIF MESSAGE SLOT *
    * FOR EVENTS BEING SENT FROM THE *
    *                      MANAGEMENT SERVER.                      *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
    If a slot mapping contains DBCS characters and the hub
    monitoring server locale is not en_US or UTF8 but is the
    local locale, the value may not get added to the event.

Problem conclusion

  • The EIF forwarding now copies data directly into memory
    instead of processing it like a string.
