Error description

  • Persistent Data Store will hang after any ABEND occurs. No dump
is produced. There are no external indications of the ABEND nor
the reason for it.

Problem summary


    

  • The ESTAE routine for PDS has been greatly improved to gain
control after an unexpected ABEND, close the PDS datasets in
an orderly fashion, issue messages that PDS is terminating,
and free storage as necessary.
