OA35333: EE PU NAME IS ZEROS IN EE NMI EECONNS RECORD.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• EE PU name is missing in the NMI record. Customer would like to
  just not report the PU via the NMI if the name does not exist.

Problem summary

• ****************************************************************
  * USERS AFFECTED: All users running VTAM with the start        *
  *                 option SNAMGMT=YES.                          *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The Network Management Interface (NMI)  *
  *                      returns invalid information for an      *
  *                      EE connection request.                  *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  The problem is summarized as follows:
  
  1) VTAM is started with the SNAMGMT=YES start option.
  2) A socket NMI application program issued the request
     to obtain the EE connection information.
  3) VTAM erroneously returned an EE Connection record to the NMI
     application which contained a null EE PU name
     (EEConnS_PU_Name) in the static information section. The
     console logs show the EE connection is being disconnected
     during this time.
  3) In this case, the NMI application (VIM) reported the
     following errors:
  
     VIP07810000MW
     EEC collection: invalid switched PU name " ", record dropped
  
     VIP00160000MI
     VIPM0327: invalid EE connection record dropped
  

Problem conclusion

• ISTMGCEE - Subroutine ScanAUNCBs has been changed to not
             return EE connections which do not have a switched
             PU connected to the EE line.
