Error description

  • DCOLLECT issues the following error messages when processing the
    second and subsequent volumes of a multiple volume HFS data set:

    IDC11808I ERRORS WERE DETECTED FOR
              SYS1.OMVS.DB2810.HFS.DB2DAS ON
    IDC11808I SYS309 - ERROR BYTE WAS X'20'
    IDC21814I FAILURE DURING DASD CALCULATION SERVICE PROCESSING FOR
    IDC21814I SYS1.OMVS.DB2810.HFS.DB2DDA
    IDC21814I RETURN CODE WAS 4

    Output from LISTC command indicates that the data set being
    processed is a multiple volume HFS.

    Additionally DASDCALC services records the following EREP
    symptom record:
    =============================
    PIDS/5695DF104 RIDS/IGWFAMS  RIDS/IGBDCS#L   PRCS/00000008
    PRCS/282801FF
    =============================

    The FAMS reason code 282801FF is being issued from the FAMS
    module IGWAMAM8 and equates RSC_OP0_DSN_NOT_FOUND. (data set not
    found)

    DCOLLECT call FAMS with a GET_ATTRIBUTE request to obtain the
    pages used for the data set on the volume. The DCOLLECT FAMS
    call pass a single volume, however; FAMS should recognize that
    this is a mutliple volume data set and process accordingly.

Problem conclusion

  • FAMS HFS processing has been changed to test for multivolume
    data sets before calling USS for attributes.
