  *                      which has one or more automation        *
  *                      statements having either the ACQUIRE    *
  *                      condition item or the EDIT action which *
  *                      has imbedded quotes in their edit       *
  *                      specifications, DSIAMACQ or DSIAMEDT    *
  *                      respectively may abend with an 0C4.     *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  The ACQUIRE condition item and the EDIT action automation table
  statement processors are not properly recognizing invalid quoted
  strings. When the bad string has a zero length, a bad length is
  generated resulting in the 0C4 abend. An imbedded quote
  (represented by two quotes) also looks like a null string but
  should be recognized as being valid.
  

Problem conclusion

• The ACQUIRE condition item and EDIT action automation table
  statement processors are being changed to properly recognize
  both quoted strings and imbedded quotes as well as invalid uses
  of a quote. Message CNM518E will be issued when an invalid
  quoted string is detected by either of these automation table
  statement processors and valid null quoted strings (not imbedded
  quotes represented by two consequtive quotes within a quoted
  string) will be ignored.
  Code is also being added to issue additional error messages for
  other syntax errors detected during ACQUIRE syntax processing.
