Error description

  • Using the INFO editor for FFT processing on 3270 Infoman that
INDX/COGFFT is not deleted when user deletes a line of FFT.
This does not happen with the PDF editor on 3270 or using the
    API.
Any change to freeform text in a InfoMan record on any platform
using any editor should cause the removal of INDX/xxxx from the
    record at file time.

    ****************************************************************
When the INFO editor is used to delete a line of text it does
not update any of the control FTE elements in the record. As a
result, when the record is filed, the 000B exit which is run
does not delete the entry which says the record is cognized.
When record text has been altered, this entry must be removed
to indicate the record needs to be re-cognized.

The cognizing TSX (BLGTCOGF) will fail on its next invocation if
all cognized entries on a single line on panel BLHLWORD are
deleted, resulting in the the TSX trying to add a null line of
congnized entries. This leads to assisted entry panel BLH6WORD
being invoked, causing BLGTCOGF to fail.

Problem conclusion

  • Code was changed to ensure that if a delete of a line occurs
that a temporary control FTE is created within the record. This
ensures that the INDX/COGFFT entry will be removed by the file
    time exit (000B).
    -
A check was added to TSX BLGTCOGF to determine if Old_Words.i
is null, and new code was added to handle this condition when
    it exists.
