APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If you have a new profile or otherwise have not updated your
SCLM jobcard, then attempt to submit a batch build, panel
FLMDSU#P displays with the message "default job information."
If you press the END key from this panel, SCLM will attempt to
submit the job, but it will get a file tailoring error.
This is because on the first FLMBDA call to FLMDSU, the
display gets RC=8, because of the END. However, FLMDSU1 only
sets its return code to 8 if the display ended with a cancel.
FLMDSU passes back a 0, which causes FLMDSU to do FTINCL.
The FTOPEN was not done, however, because of the return code
    8 from the display.

Local fix

  • To avoid this error, type CANCEL on FLMDSU#P, instead of
    pressing the END key.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All SCLM users *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: MSGISPP140 ISPFILE data set is not *
    *                      allocated after PF3 from panel FLMDSU#P *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
SCLM should have terminated file tailoring for SUBMIT processing
when user pressed PF3 as the default jobcard information was
incomplete. FTCLOSE was issued when FTOPEN was not called
    resulting in MSGISPP140

Problem conclusion

  • Module FLMDSU is changed to recognise EXIT, as well as CANCEL,
as terminating job submission for build procesing.
