Abstract

LIC-COMM-TCPIP-INCORROUT ISR WITH SERVICE STACK FAILS

Error Description

Inter-stack routing (ISR) fails between the system and service
TCP/IP stacks when a local IP address is used for connections,
resulting in TCP connections being reset following the TCP SYN,
SYN+ACK, ACK handshake.

This type of ISR may be required for servicing IBM i within the
IBM cloud environment, for example by tunneling service stack
connections through SSH.

Problem Summary

Inter-stack routing (ISR) fails between the system and service
TCP/IP stacks when a local IP address is used for connections,
resulting in TCP connections being reset following the TCP SYN,
SYN+ACK, ACK handshake.

This type of ISR may be required for servicing IBM i within the
IBM cloud environment, for example by tunneling service stack
connections through SSH.

Problem Conclusion

TCP/IP has been updated to allow ISR for packets looped back
internally.
