Abstract

LIC-DISK-STG-UNPRED - IPL HYPERSWAP FAILOVER

Error Description

When more than one target port is defined in a zone and we move
from one to another, the port ID changes in inquiry message
from the DS8000, causing an unexpected miscompare in our
hyperswap code. FIX is required to allow more than one in a
zone.

Problem Summary

When more than one target port is defined in a zone and we move
from one to another, the port ID changes in inquiry message from
the DS8000, causing an unexpected miscompare in our hyperswap
code. FIX is required to allow more than one in a zone.

Problem Conclusion

The comparison in the code no longer includes the target port.
We still recommend only one target port per zone but this fix
will avoid a failure even if a zone is mis-configured to include
two or more target ports.
