Abstract

OSP-COMM-TCPIP-OTHER-LOOP TLS CIPHER OP WORKER RESET CAUSES
ETHERNET LINE TASK TO LOCK

Error Description

SSL worker task is doing a cipher operation during a handshake
when the secure socket is reset. This causes the operation to
reset the secure session and holds a lock on the socket. The
Ethernet task unable to obtain lock and blocks the ethernet
device driver task. Ethernet line is then unresponsive.

Problem Summary

A System TLS worker task LO-SSL- is doing a cipher operation
during a handshake when the secure socket is reset. This reset
got stuck in an infinite loop while holding a lock on the socket
and TCP endpoint. The ethernet task is unable to obtain the
endpoint lock and blocks the ethernet device driver task. The
ethernet line is then unresponsive.

Problem Conclusion

The reset was updated to remove the infinite loop condition so
that the System TLS worker task will not prevent the device
driver task from obtaining a lock on the TCP endpoint when it
detects the secure socket is reset.
