Abstract

OSP-DB-OTHER-PERFM FUNCTIONAL/PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENTS AND
ADDING A DIAGNOSTIC CHANGE

Error Description

Functional/performance improvements and adding a diagnostic    
change                                                          

Problem Summary

An insert takes a long time to complete for files with variable
length fields exceeding 16MB in size.                          

Problem Conclusion

We have added code to prevent faulting in variable length space
when totaling up storage consumed by variable length fields when
rebuilding an internal structure.  We have also added vlog 0600
8&8C to document a long running rebuild of the internal        
structure
