Abstract
LIC-DISK-OTHER-F/QYASP-RC1003-MSGCPDB713 IASP VARY ON FAILS
WITH MSGCPDB713 RC1003.
Error Description
An IASP vary on attempt after a flashcopy may fail with
MSGCPDB713 RC1003. A second vary on attempt is successful
without having to take a new flashcopy or perform any other
tasks.
The issue is that during vary on time, directory pages are not
being handled in an appropriate order which leads to the
MSGCPDB713 RC1003 error.
Code will be enhanced to handle the situation differently and
allow the vary on process to complete successfully versus a
failure.
Work Around:
Manually issue a vary on of the IASP after the failure.
Problem Summary
An IASP vary on attempt after a flashcopy may fail with
MSGCPDB713 RC1003. A second vary on attempt is successful.

when this is detected.
