Abstract
LIC-OTHER-WAIT ASP BALANCE CONFLICTING WITH SAVE OPERATION
Error Description
During a backup, ASP balancing was being performed to balance
new disks. Some of the data was flagged as preferring to be on
Solid State Drives (SSD). The save preparation called database
function to move the data to the SSDs first. The move waits on
the ASP gate held by the ASP balancing. The gate is not
released until the ASP balancing completes. The solution is to
return a Move in Progress response, which Database will need to
handle. This can affect systems that do not have SSDs, as long
as the data has the media preference for SSDs set.
