Error description

  • ENV:
    Notes 8.5.3 FP5 on Windows 7 SP1 32-bit
    Sametime 8.5.2 IFR 1
    
    Details:
    
    Client hangs at splash screen, looping through 'Loading...
    Please wait'.
    
    No reproducible steps. Some users have the issue once and
    others have twice. The client starts fine after installation
    and indeed in the case of our VIP user the client was fine for
    months prior to the issue reported presenting itself.
    
    
    Customer has provided the old workspace folder. Dev please
    check it and see if the root cause can be found.
    

Local fix

  • 1) Adding -sa to use the basic client appears to work.
    2) To rename of the workspace folder
    3) Attempting to launch using either notes.exe -RPARAMS
    -resetconfig or notes.exe -RPARAMS -clean has mixed results. In
    some cases these made no difference
