LO84009: CREATING A WEB LINK IN A TEXT ITEM DOES NOT ACCEPT CERTAIN "VALID" URLS

Error description

  • When creating a link in the text editor to outside content it
checks for a valid url and considers any URL with a / that
follows URL parameters in it as invalid.

For example... this link is considered invalid:
http://somewebsite/resources?1dmy&path=/content_library/images/l
aws

To recreate the problem.
1. Create a form in FEB 8.6
2. Drag a Text element from the pallete to your fom
3. Edit the text properties and insert some text
4. highlight the text and click on the "Create link from URL"
and input any link with a URL parameter and then a / in it.

Local fix

  • Encode the trailing slashes (/).  Replace / with %2F

Problem summary

  • This issue will be fixed in the next release after Forms
Experience Builder 8.6.1.1. Once the new version is available
you can download it from FixCentral.
