LO83931: "YOUR MAIL FILE HAS EXCEEDED THE WARNING SIZE THRESHOLD" GENERATE

APAR status

• Closed as fixed if next.

Error description

• Even though mail db size is decreased, following warning message
  generates when sending a message or saving as a
  draft continuously.
  
  Your mail file has exceeded the warning size threshold of 0Kb.
  You should delete messages, empty the trash and compact your
  mail file or  contact your Administrator for help.
  
  Steps to Reproduce.
  
  1. Set db quota
  
  2. Send big message from other user. and make it to exceed
  quota.
  
  3. Open the mail file and create a message. If user attempt to
  save a message, the following error occur.
  This is correct behavior.
  
  Your mail file has exceeded the warning size threshold of 0Kb.
  You should delete messages, empty the trash and compact your
  mail file or  contact your Administrator for help.
  
  4. User delete big messages. and perform "empty trash". During
  this test, do not close mail file.
  
  5. From domino server console, perform compact as below
  
  >load compact mail\test.nsf
  
  6. User create a message. If user attempt to save a message,
  the following error still occur.
  
  Your mail file has exceeded the warning size threshold of 0Kb.
  You should delete messages, empty the trash and compact your
  mail file or  contact your Administrator for help.
  
  Until Notes 8.5 (8.0.x and 7.x),  the user can save a message
  correctly in step 6.
  In Notes 8.5.1, quota warning cannot work correctly by other
  problem , so the problem cannot reproduce.
  Notes 8.5.2 or later, the problem can reproduce.
  
  The customer request us to revert same behavior as 8.5.
  

Local fix

• Close a mail file and Open again. or restart notes client.
