Error description

  • When a customer rename a user, the rename process sequence
    would not continue in admin4.nsf

    Steps to reproduce the issue.

    1. Register a user without a first name (eg. Last name:DM001)
    2. Put an internet address on the User (eg. DM001@acme.com)
3.Rename the user using the rename tool on the tools pane via
adminp. (rename it's short name. Last name and internet
address. (eg. change the last name to:DM002 internet address to
    DM002@acme.com and short name to:DM002)
4.After Renaming do a tell adminp process all to the Server
    console

In a normal process sequence of rename:

"Initiate process in Domino Directory" is the first part
after it is approved "Rename person in Domino Directory will
follow" then the client needs to authenticate so that his
name on his/her notes client will change

    but for this issue:

"Initiate process in Domino Directory" will stuck with this
    error
"The person DM002 has already been assigned Short name/UserID
CN=DM002/O=Acme in the Domino Directory (Acme's Directory).

User needs first to authenticate so that the rename process
    will continue.

Local fix

  • Client should authenticate first to the server so that the
    rename process continues
