LO83703: NOTES 9 CLIENT DOESN'T DISPLAY INLINE IMAGES AS IN NOTES 8.5.X

APAR status

Error description

• Notes 9 client doesn't display inline images as in Notes 8.5.x
  
  An existing application doesn't work anymore as expected. An
  image, imported
  via lotusscript is in Notes 9 no longer displayed as an
  inline image but rather as an attachment. The same document
  opened in Notes
  8.5.3 shows the image correctly as an inline image.

  After adding 'GENERATE_IMAGE_THUMBNAIL=0' to Notes.ini the
  document will be
  displayed as in Notes 8.5.x:
  
  
  
  But the new functionality 'Show image preview (thumbnails) for
  attachments' is
  lost. For customer this is an issue cause he
  will use the new functionality and also the existing application
  should display
  the documents correct.
  

Local fix

•  Add 'GENERATE_IMAGE_THUMBNAIL=0' to Notes.ini  but new
  functionality 'Show
  image preview (thumbnails) for attachments' will be lost.
  

Problem summary

• This APAR is closed as FIN. We have deferred the fix to a
