Error description
Sending mail from WM with UTF-8 characters may have character corruption if the mail contains characters that are not included or match the local character set. For example, characters with umlauts may show up as question marks instead of the correct characters.
Local fix
Problem summary
Sending UTF-8 data from older Windows Mobile device may corrupt national language characters or DBCS characters. Windows Mobile device level in question is rarely used anymore by end users.
Problem conclusion
The Notes Traveler server was updated to handle this scenario correctly.
Temporary fix
This fix is included in Notes Traveler 8.5.3 UP2 IF7, 9.0.0.1 If7 and 9.0.1 IF6 and will be included in any future releases. See this technote for the latest maintenance infomation: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24019529
