Error description

  • Client is trying to install Notes 8.5.3 on Ubuntu OS. Client
encountered following error message when they tried to install
it on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS which was not supported.
Error message:
E: Unable to locate package ibm-lotus-notes-8.5.3.i586.deb
E: Couldn't find any package by regex
'ibm-lotus-notes-8.5.3.i586.deb'

Asked client to install Notes 8.5.3 on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS but had
similar issue. Client was following instructions from following
link:

http://usablesoftware.wordpress.com/2012/05/04/install-lotus-not
es-8-5-3-on-ubuntu-12-04-64bit/

Asked client to install Notes 8.5.3 on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS using
instructions from following link
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LotusNotes but had
encountered the following error message:
Error message:
dpkg: error processing ibm-lotus-notes_8.5.3.i586.deb
(--install):
 cannot access archive: No such file or directory
Errors were encountered while processing:
 ibm-lotus-notes_8.5.3.i586.deb
