Error description

  • When router does CD -> MIME conversion, all header fields are
checked to see if the content needs to be encoded. If any field
    contains character
    "; (semicolon)
    ", ", (comma)
    ", " \n (linefeed)
    " or " \r (carriage return)",
it will be converted to UTF8 and encoded as Base64. This
causes the Domino server to spend a lot of time trying to
convert and to encode what is the main reason that the server
seems to hang and to consume all CPU. In customers case the
issue was caused by some machine generated mails which used a
complex form, containing a lot of header fields meeting the
    conditions discussed above.

Local fix

  • Either use a standard template or rework the customized mail
template to avoid saving script or larger content in the
    headers.
