LO79975: PLAIN TEXT MAIL FROM ANDROID SHOULD BE UTF-8 ENCODING.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer found that the Plain/Text part of an e-mail from
  Android device would have an encoding specified of us-ascii
  instead of the desired UTF-8.  For many devices us-ascii would
  be fine, but for some devices in different locals, us-ascii is
  not sufficient, for example for DBCS characters, national
  language characters or other local specific special characters.

Problem summary

• The Plain/Text part of an email from an Android devie would have
  an encoding specified as US-ascii instead of the desired UTF-8.
  US-ascii is not sufficient in some locals, for example for DBCS
  characters, national language characters or other local special
  characters.
  

Problem conclusion

• Notes Traveler Server has been updated to use UTF-8
  for emails from an Android device.
  

Temporary fix

• This fix will be included in Notes Traveler
  9.0.0.1 IF6, 9.0.1 IF5 and later releases. For the latest
