Error description
Using the Windows 7 ActiveX Installer Service the customer allows seamless installation of the ActiveX files for hislimited users. They simply click on the Attachments section and the icons appear immediately. They do not need to click OK/ Install on many message dialogs. This worked fine on 8.5X but when they upgraded to 9.0.1 it no longer worked. Now limited users have to click several dialogs to complete the installation. Steps to reproduce: first i create a user without admin rights - only "USER" rights (no PowerUser rights) - then i check the ActiveX installation on PC1 without any change of local GPO settings. -> open the Domino 9.0.1 iNotes - UAC message / a block message comes up - this was expected. - switch to the admin account and use gpedit.msc - Computer Config - Admin Templates - Windows Components - ActiveX Installer Service - Approved Installation Sites for... - enable - set the URLs of our Domino 8.5.3 and 9.0.1 Server - value 2,2,1,0 - save the local GPO - CMD - type "gpupdate /force" - switch to the user account - CMD - type "gpupdate /force" again - re-login with the user account - now i open the mailfile of a iNotes 8.5.3 User. check the ActiveX installation for iNotes 8.5.3 - It's OK no popup - open the mailfile of a iNotes 9.0.1 User. check the ActiveX installation for iNotes 9.0.1 - Block message comes UP !!!
