APAR status

Error description

  • A clean new installation of Notes 9.0.1 German (multi-user) on
    new installed
    Windows 8.1 64Bit German client.
    
    1) I open a command prompt (run as administrator) and change to
    data directory
    of the notes client (%LOCALAPPDATA%\IBM\Notes\Data).
    2) Then I call from the program directory of IBM Notes the
    command nsd.exe -kill
    3) nsd.exe -kill starts and stop all running Notes processes,
    but then the
    prompt stop after the kill and the position where the file is
    saved

    Before I put the new client to production, I need for the users
    a solution to
    kill the client when something goes wrong.
    Usually I use nsd -kill, but nsd is not working correctly. I do
    not get the DOS
    prompt back after the kill
    
    
    Tested on the english  & german versions of Notes/ Windows
    Also made some tests with the English Version of Notes 9.0.1
    with the same issue
    Issue occurs every time notes is run, have tried to launch it
    multiple times at
    least more than10
    Even after restart of notes client when attempted to run the nsd
    -kill i do not
    get the DOS prompt back
