Error description
Some EAS devices are sending the same mail multiple times. The ClientId is designed to handle this issue, but the devices are improperly changing the ClientId each time, so the server is correctly saying that it is new and sending it again. The change here is to add an additional check on the server so that if the rfc822 is equivalent (ignoring insignificant fields), the mail will be considered as already sent and not sent again. This will provide an additional saftey to handle devices that are not properly using ClientId.
Local fix
Problem summary
This is actually a bug with some devices. In a mail send failure or timeout, the device may resend the mail but with a new ID instead of using the same ID as it is supposed to do.
Problem conclusion
The Notes Traveler server has been updated to not only compare IDs, but compare mail content to ensure it is not an exact duplicate of a mail that was just sent by the device.
Temporary fix
This fix is included in Notes Traveler 9.0.1 IF4 and 9.0.0.1 IF5 and all future releases. For the latest Notes Traveler maintenance release information please see this technote: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24019529
