APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In Notes Traveler processing of changes cause the following
message to appear on the user's mail server console.

"Database note open error: NT00000552 document in database
<MailFileName> opened by <TravelerSeverName>: Attempt to perform
    folder operation on non-folder note.".

This causes no data lost, just some error messages on the Mail
    server console.

Local fix

  • The work around is that in the events4.nsf on the mail sever
DDMProbe By type view under Database section Edit "Database
Error Monitoring" document and add the message to the list of
    ignore messages.

Problem summary

  • Several customers reported seeing this message on the Domino
    console:

"Attempt to perform folder operation on non-folder note."

No adverse effects were reported, just extra logging messages.

Problem conclusion

  • The Notes Traveler server was iterating through folder list
without checking if the item was actually a folder. There are
some cases where non-folder item existed in the folder list.
This didn't hurt anything, but is resolved now and the error
messages should no longer be seen.

Temporary fix
