Error description

  • When doing a typical upgrade of the server by installing the
9.0.1 binaries over the top of an existing 9.0 server the IHS
binaries do not get upgraded. It still shows the apache version
to be 8.5.0 rather than the 8.5.5. This may be the intended
behavior to keep the upgrade from overwriting the current IHS
configuration. However can not find any documentation that this
    is intended or a bug.

Local fix

  • Rename the current IHS folder before running the 9.0.1 install
over the top of the existing 9.0 server and the new binaries
will be layed down. But it will clobber the existing IHS conf
    files with no warning.
