LO77215: STREAMING ERRORS FOR SOME EAS ATTACHMENTS DELAYS RESPONSE 15 MINUTES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If attachment content is being streamed to an Exchange
  ActiveSync based device in the middle of a message (Sync or
  ItemOperations, not GetAttachment) and the attachment block ID
  in the reference ID (UNID_BlockID) is invalid, then the servlet
  will not close the socket for the maximum servlet timeout
  (default of 15 minutes).  If the device still has the socket
  active and proceeds to process this old response, it can corrupt
  the sync key for that collection, use that old sync key on the
  next request, and possibly cause the data to refresh from the
  server because of the sync key mismatch.  Sync key mismatches
  most often happen for other reasons, so this situation is very
  specific to the attachment streaming case where the UNID is
  valid but the block ID is invalid.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Users might see Invalid Sync key in usage log and delay or
  resync of data on Apple, BB10 or Windows Phone device.
  

Problem conclusion

• The Notes Traveler server has been updated to avoid this
  particular scenario which could result in invalid sync key used
  by the mobile device.
  

Temporary fix

• This fix is included in Notes Traveler 9.0.0.1 IF2 and will be
  included in all future releases.  For latest Notes
