LO76687: CANCELLED MEETING MAY REAPPEAR ON CHAIR CALENDAR WHEN USING BB10 DEVICE.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Concurrent update from device (bb10) and delete from server
  (cancel) conflicts results in meeting reappearing on users
  calendar.
  Does not occur all the time, but is timing issue related.
  BB10 device updates device meeting status when it receives a
  meeting reply from attenee. This causes a meeting update to
  server next time there is calendar data to sync. If user cancels
  meeting prior to that update occuring an Update/Delete conflict
  occurs which results in the update winning within Traveler.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• If an event is updated by the Mobile device, then deleted by the
  user on the server and the update had not been processed by
  Notes Traveler yet, then the event may re-appear on the chair's
  calendar.
  
  This is not a new problem, but previously was extremely
  difficult to encounter.  However BlackBerry devices send
  frequent updates to calendar events, even if no update was made,
  which makes this scenario more likely to happen.
  

Problem conclusion

• The Notes Traveler server was updated to recognize and process
  this scenario correctly and allow the delete to be final update
  processed for a Calendar event.
  

Temporary fix

• This issue is fixed in Notes Traveler 9.0.0.1 IF1 and later
  releases.  See this technote for the latest available
