Error description
Some users report that they stop recieving updates on their mobile devices. Its not all users and not all the time. One thing that does seem common in this scenario is that there is a brief period of time that mail server(s) are unavailable. For example if performing compact of mail dbs or restarting the mail servers.
Local fix
A simple work around is to simply restart the Traveler server after maintenance is performed on the mail server. Doing so you will have a very short Traveler server outage, but on restart it will ensure all threads are active.
Problem summary
Customer reported some users would stop recieving updates on the Mobile device. We found this generally happened in close proximitaty to a short outage of the mail server, for example restarting the mail server. Problem would only effect some users and only some of the time.
Problem conclusion
Notes Traveler server was updated to handle this scenario correctly.
Temporary fix
This fix is included in Notes Traveler 8.5.3 UP2 IF4 and 9.0.0.1 and any future releases. See this technote for the latest Notes Traveler release information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24019529
