Error description

  • Notes Client 8.5.3FP4 Windows 7 Notes client should be
launched and it should open the database which' data is
written in the .ndl file instead the windows opens and ask you
to choose the application The type of the .ndl file is shown
as "IBM Lotus Notes Link" in the Windows file explorer, see
attachement "screen.png". Steps to create the .ndl 1- Open
your mail database in hte notes client 2- selected edit / copy
as / application link 3- open a text editor say notespad 4-
paste the contents of the clipboard into it 5- same it as .ndl
file 6- double click on the file , then you need to chose the
notes client application. Customer would like to get a
solution so it can deploy automatically and not has to do it
     manually and choose notes client
application Workaround: Root cause of the problem, a
registry key is wrong. After the installation the registry
     key "[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Notes.link\Shell\open\command]" has
     the value "C:\Program Files (x86)\Notes\notes.exe -defini %1"
Which is wrong, it should be "C:\Program Files
     (x86)\Notes\notes.exe" -defini "%1"
