LO74188: CANCEL FROM ATTENDEE FOR IOS GENERATED DUPLICATE MEETING.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Meeting users receive a cancel notice from an attendee. The
  cancel notice has the same subject and dates as the meeting on
  their calendar. The cancel does not actually cancel the
  meeting since it is for a different meeting that does not exist
  on their calendar.
  Issue occurs because ios device under the covers on rare
  occurrences creates a duplicate meeting (same subject, dates,
  attendees) on a user
  calendar and makes the attendee the chair of this duplicate. No
  invitations are send to anyone for this duplicte. At some later
  time the user deletes this duplicate which results in cancel
  notice to everyone.
  This cancel is for the duplicate that no one else has on their
  calendar but makes them think that the meeting on their
  calendar was cancelled by an attendee causing lots of confusion.
  
  Fix is to detect the creation of this duplicate and delete it.
  This will not fix any cases where duplicate has already been
  created.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Work around for Apple iOS Calendar bug - prevent creation of
  duplicate bogus meeting.
  

Problem conclusion

• The Notes Traveler server has been updated to detect and correct
  the Calendar when the Apple iOS creates this bogus meeting,
  preventing confusion and accidental deletes of correct meeting.
  

Temporary fix

• This fix is available in Notes Traveler 8.5.3 Upgrade Pack 2
  Interim Fix 2 and will be included in all future releases.
