LO73000: WILL RECEIVE ACCEPTED MAIL ALTHOUGH TRAVELER RESPOND DECLINE

APAR status

Error description

  • Environment
    One Domino environment.
      (Domino and Traveler works as same machine)
    Domino 8.5.3
    Traveler 8.5.3 UP1
      (This isue happens at Traveler 8.5.3.3, too.)
    Traveler client: iOS
      (This proble does not happen at Android device)
    
    Steps to Reproduce
    1. Meeting owner create a new Calendar Meeting invitees, and
       send to Traveler user.
    2. Meeting owner execute confirm action
       (Owner Action -> Confirm)
    3. Traveler client sync messages.  This user will receive two
       messages on the device.
    4. Open Meeting invitees by iOS Calendar application.
    5. Respond as "Decline"
    6. Meeting owner will receive "Accepted" message. (BUG)
    
    NOTE
    This problem does not happen if meeting owner doesn't use
    confirm action.
    In the almost same scenario, Meeting owner will receive
    "Accepted" mail when traveler user respond as "Accept".
    

Local fix

  • Don't use confim action.
    

Problem summary

  • Customer reported that in some cases a Traveler user may send an
    accept notice when they infact declined.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This has been resolved, although the scenario is somewhat rare.
    
    Chair sends meeting notice.
    Chair sends update notice.
    Invitee then declines the meeting on an Apple device.
    
    This issue was not seen with other device types or other meeting
    scenarios.
