Error description

  • When the mail file is over its quota, some mail that is intended
to send to both Notes users and Internet users cannot be sent to
internet recipients, but only sent to Notes user.
Users do not know if the message is actually sent to all
    recipients.
If the message cannot be sent to internet users, Notes should
pop up the message to tell users about it.

    Steps to reproduce:

I can reproduce this with the following conditions.
    - A mail file is over its quota.
    - "Unable to write to your mail file because it has exceeded
the size threshold. You should delete messages, empty the trash
and compact your mail file." is popped up when you paste around
    50KB message in Inbox.
--> When Database Disk Space is less than 50%, you canreproduce
    this issue.
    - Import or Ctrl-V screen shot in its body.

    1. Start Administrator client.
    2. Open 'Files' tab and select a mail file.
    3. 'Tools' - 'Database' - 'Quota' and set Database quota that
is larger than current database size.
    4. Start Notes client and open the mail file.
    5. Repeat copying and pasting some documents in Inbox and then
    you see the dialogue:
"Unable to write to your mail file because it has exceeded the
size threshold. You should delete messages, empty the trash and
    compact your mail file."

    * You cannot paste the document around 50KB in Inbox, then you
will be able to reproduce this issue.
--> When Database Disk Space is less than 50%, you can reproduce
    this issue.

    6. Stop Router task on the mail server.
    7. Create new message and set a Notes user and an Internet user
    in To.
    8. Print Screen and paste/Ctrl-V on its body.
    9. Click 'Send'.
    10. You see the following dialogue:
"Unable to write to your mail database which is currently nnnnn
Kb. Saving this message would exceed the disk quota of nnnnn Kb
    by nnnnn Kb.
You should delete messages, empty the trash and compact your
mail file or contact your Administrator for help. "
    11. Click 'OK' and then return to edit the message.
    12. Click 'Send' again.
    13. You see "Do you want to send, save or discard your changes?
    Choose Cancel to continue editing."
    14. Click 'Send and Save'.
    15. You see "Unable to write to your mail database which is
currently nnnnnn Kb. Saving this message would exceed the disk
quota of nnnn Kb by nnnn bytes. Would you like to SEND ONLY?"
    16. Click 'Yes'.
    17. You see "Unable to write to database because database would
    exceed its disk quota."
    18. Click 'OK' and then return to edit the message.
    19. Open a mail box on its mail server and you find a message
that will be send to Notes client.
    20. Click 'Send' again and you see
    "Are you sure?
This message was already sent to one or more recipients.
If you send it again, some recipients may receive more than one
copy of the message. Select Yes to continue. No to cancel
    sending."
    21. Click 'Yes'.
    22. Open a mail box on its mail server and you find another
message that will be send to Notes client.

When you set only a Notes user in To, the message is created in
mail.box and you do not return to edit window in Step 18.
When you set only an Internet user in To, the message is not
created in mail.box and you return to edit window in Step 18.

When you attach a file, not pasted the screen shot, 2 messages
are created on a mail box, one is for a Notes user and the other
    is for an Internet user.

You can reproduce this when Mail file location is "Local" and
the message is created in local mail.box.
