LO65947: PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENTS FOR LARGE MAIL FILES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• With systems where there are a lot of users with large mail
  files being synched to the device may cause high CPU and slow
  performance because of how the Lotus Notes Traveler NTSDB was
  organized.  This APAR improves several of the queries for
  finding documents that need to be synched to device,
  
  Also included in this APAR is the new tell command to get some
  db usage information

      DBUsage  - Display usage statistics from the Lotus Traveler
  database.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Customer reported seeing frequent high CPU and performance
  problems running Lotus Traveler.
  

Problem conclusion

• The issue was tracked to not the number of servers, but the
  number of documents each user was syncing.  Syncing a large
  number of documents ( 20000+ ) the internal database was seeing
  performance issues with standard db queries.  The Lotus Traveler
  server has updated these queries to be more efficient for large
  data sets.
  

Temporary fix

• This fix will be included in Lotus Traveler 8.5.3.2 and later
