Error description
The failing scenario is that primary mail server is down. In the 1 hour, Lotus Notes Traveler retries the connection with the primary mail server then there is an error throw "RETRY:<CN Name of the user> Exception Thrown: com.lotus.sync.dca.CAException: NotesException: Error connecting to server <MailServer> Status(0xa02)=Remote system no longer responding". The problem is that this error is not handled correctly and the primary server is not retried again. This keeps the user using the backup mail server until that mail server goes down or Lotus Notes Traveler is restarted.
Local fix
Problem summary
Customer reported that after primary mail server went down and came back up, Lotus Traveler would continue syncing mail from the backup mail server and not switch back to the primary.
Problem conclusion
Lotus Traveler server was updated to check the primary server status periodically and switch back when available.
Temporary fix
This fix will be included in Lotus Traveler 8.5.3.2 and later releases. For the latest recommended maintenance please see this technote: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24019529
