LO65705: DEVICE NOT ABLE TO SYNC WHEN USER NAMES IS NOT NORMALIZED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When HTTP authentication is using LDAP and the canonical name in
  the LDAP and names.nsf are different case, these users are not
  able to synch data to the device.  The external symptoms is that
  the following error message appears on the console. Where the
  "Ldap CN name" is different from the Names.nsf case.
  
  Lotus Traveler task did not respond within the allotted time
  frame (55,000 milliseconds) for action GET and operation key
  "Ldap CN name"
  
  How to verify this is the issue.
  
  Tell Traveler show <Ldap CN name>
     In the display search for the line  Canonical Name:
  <Names.nsf CN> is different case than the Ldap CN name
  
  This problem is only for 8.5.3.1 + hot fixes, no other releases.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Customer using a proxy server found a few users were unable to
  sync data using Lotus Traveler.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem was determined to be the FQ name reported by the
  Proxy server was a different case than used by the Domino
  server.  Normalizing the user name, even if already in FQ form
  resolves the problem.
  

Temporary fix

• This fix will be included in Lotus Traveler 8.5.3.2 and later
  releases.  See this technote for the latest Lotus Traveler
  maintenance information.
