Error description

  • Customer reported that an e-mail sent from an Android client
will be missing some new line characters when viewed on an early
    version of Notes Client.

The issue seems related to the client using a <br/> tag for
newline vs a <br> tag for newline.

Problem summary

  • When sending mail from Android device and viewing the mail on an
Android device, in the Inbox view of the calendar app newline
    characters where not honorred.

Problem conclusion

  • The Lotus Traveler Android client was using a <br/> for new
line. Although this is acceptable and even encouraged by some
standards, some Domino server versions would not interpret
correctly. The Android client was changes to use the more
standard, if less correct, <br> for new line characters.
