APAR status

  • Closed as user error.

Error description

  • The new administrator set up an ID Vault in the environment
    upgraded to Domino8.5.2.
    Administrator does not change the values on the [Execution
    Control List] of a "Security setting document".
    However, ECL warning dialog is displayed on the user who
    accepted the organization policy.
    
    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Setup the Domino6.5.6, and register some users
       Administrator: Admin656
       User: User01, User02, ...
    2. User01 setup the Notes6.5.6
    3. Upgrade to Domino8.5.2 from Domino6.5.6.
    4. Admin656 registers a new user.
       Administrator: Admin852
    5. Admin656 registers Admin852 into ACL of a Domino directory as
    an administrator.
    6. Admin656 opens the security tab of a server document.
    7. Admin656 adds Admin852 to the administrators field, and saves
    a server document.
    8. Admin852 opens the security tab of a server document.
    9. Remove Admin656 from Administrators field, and save a server
    document.
    10. Admin852 setup an ID Vault.  Finally, please choose "I will
    specify a Notes ID vault policy at another time".
    11. Create a Security Settings document for an ID Vault.
    11-1. Select [How To Apply] - [Don't set value for all fields].
    11-2. Select [ID Vault] tab.
    11-3. Remove check of all "Don't set value" fields.
    11-4. Set the values for an ID Vault.
    11-5. Save a Security settings document
    12. User01 upgrade to Notes 8.5.2 from Notes 6.5.6.
    13. User01 log-in Domino 8.5.2.
    14. User01 open a mail database, ECL warning dialog is
    displayed.
       Program signed by: Admin656
       Is attempting: Access to ECL
       With the action: ECL Update
    
    Admin852 does not change the values on the [Execution Control
    List] of a "Security setting document".
    The check are set in all "Don't set value" field.
    
    
    When the following messages are displayed on the Domino console
    by Step13, please change a Security settings document in the
    following step.
    
    "Problem with signature on policy document or one of the policy
    setting documents it specifies: Document has been modified or
    corrupted since signed! <data>"
    
    15. Admin852 open a Security setting document by edit mode.
    16. Select [Password Management] - [Password management Basic]
    tab.
    17. Change "Use Custom Password Policy for Notes User" into
    "YES".
    18. Select [Password Management] - [Custom Password Policy] tab.
    19. Remove check of all "Don't set value" fields.
    20. Select [Password Management] - [Password management Basic]
    tab.
    21. Change "Use Custom Password Policy for Notes User" into
    "No".
    22. Save a Security setting document.
    23. User01 log-in Domino 8.5.2.
    24. User01 open a mail database, ECL warning dialog is
    displayed.
