Error description

  • Problem:
Mail rules created in Notes client get garbled after modifying
via iNotes. Once the issue occurs, the mail rule does not work
    correctly.

    Test Environment:
    Lotus Domino 8.5.2 32bit
    Windows 2003 32bit

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Install and setup Lotus Domino 8.5.2 (English).
    2. Open Server document and go to 'Internet Protocols..' -
'Domino Web Engine' tab - "Character Set" section.
    3. Change the setting as follows;

    'Use UTF-8 for output:' "No"
'Default character set group:' "Japanese" -> "SJIS" is
    selected.

    4. Restart server to reflect changes.
    5. Open mail database from Notes client.
    6. Create a mail rule. (For testing purpose, I created a mail
    rule below.)

    Create condition: sender contains "test"
Specify Actions: move to folder ($Inbox)

    7. Open the mail database via browser (IE8) and go to 'Tools' -
    'Rule' view.
    8. Open the mail rule and click 'Save & Close'.
    9. An error displays on status bar.

A problem has occurred which may have caused the current
    operation to fail.

    10. When clicking on "Refresh" button, rule condition gets
    gabled.
