Error description
This symptom is reproduced when you have a mail file for POP3 on a Notes server. You do not have the symptom if you have a mail file for POP3 on the local directory of your Notes client. You need to create an account document in your personal Address Book with the settings below before start testing the test steps. - Create an account document for POP protocol. - Set Yes to the "Leave mail on server" option of the protocol configuration. - Set the location document so that the mail file for POP3 is located in a Domino server. I used a mail file that uses mail6.ntf of 6.5.5 for the design of the database. I call the account you use for testing as User A. 1. An Internet user sends a mail message to User A. 2. Launch Notes client. Move to Replicator tab and download the new mail message from a SMTP server. 3. The new mail message that was sent in the step 1 is put in the mail file of User A. 4. Select the new mail message and press the delete key to put the new message in Trash folder. 5. Move to Replicator tab and try downloading a new mail message again from the SMTP server. 6. The same mail message that was downloaded in the step 2 is downloaded again. If you skip the step 5, no message is downloaded. If you have the mail database in the local drive of Notes client, you do not receive the new mail even when follow the step 1 to 6.
Local fix
If the mail database is located at a local directory of Notes client, it works fine; no message is downloaded even when deleting a message from Inbox.
