APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When attempting to Install the Notes 8.5.2 STANDARD client, the
    installer reportes the following error:
    
    File not found: C:\Lotus\Notes\framework\.provisioning_rc
    Provisioning process failed to launch or was stopped
    before status could be determined.
    
    The install then performs a "roll Back" function.
    
    - Had customer run the NICE tool but it reports that no Lotus
      Notes installations are detected.
    
    - workspace logs do not get created
    
    
    - Then has customer repeat the install using the following
      command:
    
     lotus_notes852_win_en.exe /a /v"/l*v c:\test.log
    
     PROV_VMARGS=-verbose:class"
    
    This also failed, test.log file is attached
    
    
    Then had customer do the following:
    
     Start the Install
    
     When it fails with the error, DO NOT click on OK in the dialog
     box
    
    Then do the following:
    
     - Open a command prompt and navigate to the
       IBM\lotus\notes\jvm\bin folder
    
     - Type  java -version and send in the screenshot
    
     - Then zip up the contents of the \jvm\bin folder and copy to
       EcURep
    
    
     The screen shot appears to indicate a crash, please see
     attached files.
