Error description
The favicon is missing from a webpage when authentication is required over the web AND "Session authentication" is enabled in the server document. This is only experienced in Internet Explorer not Mozilla Firefox. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a database based on the discussion.ntf template in the Domino Data directory. 2. Make sure both "Default" and "Anonymous" entries in the ACL both are set to "No Access". 3. In the server document, under "Internet Protocols > Domino Web Engine" set "Session authentication" to "Single Server" and restart the HTTP task. 4. Clear the cookies, cache and history in your IE browser (tested against Win7/IE8). 5. Open the discussion database.
Local fix
Do not use session authentication. - OR - Allow anonymous access to database over the web.
