LO52374: ADDING $CONFLICTACTION=3 TO EXISTING DOCUMENTS IN CLUSTER CAUSES REPLICATION CONFLICTS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• You have an application on clustered servers with documents that
  have been saved multiple times (documents have $Revisions
  field). The documents were created using a form where the
  default conflicting handling option was set: Create Conflicts
  (no $ConflictAction on documents). You change the conflict
  handling to Merge/No Conflicts (either on the form properties or
  by using agent to add $ConflictAction=3 to documents).  After
  the field gets added, replication with the cluster server
  generates replication conflicts.
  

Local fix

• This replication conflicts issue is specific to Merge/No
  Conflicts (3) option.  To workaround this issue,
   1. set the form properties to Merge Conflicts
  ($ConflictAction=2)
   2. resave the documents
   3. make sure the documents on both clustered servers have
  $ConflictAction set to 2
   4. set the form properties to Merge/No Conflicts and resave the
  documents
  
  If you are using an agent to set this field, have the agent set
  $ConflictAction to 2, replicate, then run the agent to set it to
  3.
