LO51250: 8.5.1FP1 UNINSTALLER UPDATES INSTALL.DAT WRONG ON AIX

Error description

• PROBLEM:
  
  Downgrade from 8.5.1 FP1 to 8.5.1 updates install.dat
  incorrectly.
  Domino installer thinks 8.5.1 FP1 is still installed after
  uninstallation of FP1.
  
  Happens also when uninstalling 8.5.1 FP2.

  TROUBLESHOOTING Done:
  - Uninstalling Fix Pack 1 for 8.5.1 on the customer's AIX box
  (Domino 32bit on Aix 64bit with several Domino partitions), did
  not appear to complete cleanly.
  
  - When trying to re-install Fix Pack 1 again, the installer
  stated that 8.5.1 FP1 was already installed, when in fact, it
  was just un-installed.
  
  - The customer restored all program files back to 8.5.1 level
  from backup(/opt/ibm/lotus/notes/latest/ibmpow) and once this
  was done he was able to install 8.5.1 FP1 again properly.
  
  - The customer also tested with Fix Pack 2 on their test server.
  When trying to uninstall Fix Pack 2 and then trying to
  re-install it again, the installer claims that Fix Pack 2 is
  already installed.
  
  - So the problem is that Fix Pack 1 and Fix Pack 2 for Domino
  8.5.1 (32bit) on AIX (64bit) do not uninstall correctly/cleanly
  in the customer's environment.
  
  
  Looked install.dat-3  and it has some fields with text string
  8.5.1 FP1 like  (base_version = "851FP1" ) although 851 is
  installed. This prevents installer of language packs or
  fixpacks to recognize real version that is 851.
  

Local fix

• restore of all program files back to 8.5.1 level from
  backup(/opt/ibm/lotus/notes/latest/ibmpow) and once this was
  done customer was
  able to install 8.5.1 FP1 again properly.
  

Problem summary

• The problem will be fixed in the next release of the product.
